Your quote is the price. If we open a wall and find pre-existing damage, we stop and show you before anything else moves.
For Weeks 1–3, no. They're like-for-like upgrades using prefab and panel products, which are exempt — so we can start in days. Week 4 (a fully tiled shower) installs a new waterproofing membrane, which does trigger a building consent under the NZ Building Code. We lodge and manage that consent for you before we start, so the on-site work is still a tidy four weeks.
We do a pre-start check to catch most of it early. If something hidden does turn up once we open up, we stop, show you exactly what it is, and quote the fix separately before continuing. Your packaged price never changes silently.
Modern tile-look wall panels (the kind we use in Week 3) give you the clean grid look of tiles with no grout lines to scrub or go mouldy — and they're fully watertight. For many homeowners it's the smartest pick: the look they wanted, faster and cheaper than full tiling.
